Before you travel to Colombia, you may have heard about the importance of dancing for dating Colombian women
Heck, I have even recommended it myself in other articles I have written on this website!
And overall, I can say that there is some importance in dancing for dating Colombian women
After all, it’s simply part of the culture
I remember one time when I was at a Colombian themed club in Mexico
And I showed up with some friends
Most of them were Colombian except one guy who was Brazilian
And it was a nicer club too so I dressed up a bit better in a decent dress shirt with some nice shoes like these
And they had all kinds of salsa music
And there were Colombians dancing everywhere in ways I couldn’t dance since I’m not good at dancing
While it was just the Brazilian guy and I who mostly just stood there having a few drinks and talking since neither one of us knew any salsa
And there were a few Colombian guys who were basically killing it at this place
Basically going from chick to chick dancing well and perhaps getting a few phone numbers here and there
Well, I decided I wasn’t going to just sit there and maybe I can try to dance a little bit
So I approached this nice looking chick who was a bit curvy, white with black hair and in a normal dress
And we danced a bit and she had a lot of patience for my dancing
And overall, I got her number in the end and we met up later for some fun
It didn’t matter that I didn’t know how to dance to salsa music
Which mostly consisted of a bunch of Grupo Niche (a very popular Colombian band)
It’s that I tried to learn a bit about her culture and dancing and she was impressed that I even made the effort
After all, most Colombians will assume you know nothing about dancing and will assume you probably won’t care to try
So for Colombian chicks, even putting in the effort is impressive.
And will help you significantly in getting their number and perhaps having some fun later
Where you can dance more privately at your place
And all it takes is for you to get the confidence to just put yourself out there and give it a shot
After all, nobody is expecting you to dance amazingly
And to be honest, quite a few Colombians don’t dance great either and still do well for dancing with cute Colombian chicks
Which, overall, this experience sums up some of the main points you should know about how important dancing is for dating Colombian chicks
Tip 1: Have Confidence
By just having the confidence to try it out, you are going to impress her by your confidence alone.
She will assume that you are more outgoing and willing to take a shot at new things in life which will get her more interested in you.
Tip 2: Learn A Little Bit. Little is Better Than Nothing
As said before, not all Colombians are great at dancing and most are just average to be honest.
By just learning a little bit, you can enjoy something new and you will have more access to more Colombian women who go out at night to dance with new people
Which in turn gives you more women to approach and perhaps get some numbers and see where that takes you late
Tip 3: Expectations Are Very Low
You are not Colombian. Therefore, her expectations are very low.
By just knowing how to dance in general is like knowing how to speak Spanish at a conversational level.
She doesn’t expect you to know how to do either because you are not Colombian
And being able to do just a little bit of either will be very impressive to her
She will be impressed that you actually took the time to do either one of those and learned a bit about her culture and language
That you are more active in life and willing to improve yourself
Which will make her think more highly of you and be more attracted in general
Tip 4: Which Music to Learn?
While there are a variety of Latin music that is produced in Colombia by different artists, some of the music is easier to learn than others.
For example, I have been to a few places in Colombia that have merengue music.
For me, merengue was quite easier to dance to than most Latin music
There is also reggaeton, which is very easy to dance to and requires very little skill in my opinion
It’s much more sexual and easier for escalating also in my opinion
But doesn’t take much to practice
If I had to suggest a type of music to learn and practice dancing to, I’d suggest salsa
Because salsa is a bit more difficult but is also very popular in Colombia
And so it will provide you a lot more access to women and will be a bigger challenge to overcome
As said in my story, salsa music was what we were dancing to and there were plenty of quality chicks there
If I didn’t take the time to learn salsa that night, I wouldn’t have had fun with the chick I did.
Tip 5: It Can Help You Escalate With Her
As mentioned before, I went from just sitting down and having a few drinks to actually going out and try learning how to dance salsa with a nice Colombian chick.
In doing so, I was able to escalate more with this chick
Where we danced a bit to going for the first kiss
To then making out a bit
And to exchanging numbers where we met up later and had some more casual fun
Where she taught me how to dance salsa a little bit better at my place during the night alone between just the two of us
For Colombian women, dancing is a very great way to be more physical with a guy
And can be great for turning her on more and being more attracted to you
Down the line, you escalate, get her number and see what happens
Special Mention: Cali
It should also be mentioned that there is one special city in Colombia where dancing is much more important than anywhere else I have been to
And that is Cali
Women there enjoy dancing to salsa than anything else
And will want to dance salsa with you from time to time during the night
As said before, expectations are not high as you are a foreigner
However, being able to dance to salsa in at the very least a basic way will be impressive to her and help you have more fun in this city
So while dancing is important in all of Colombia, it’s much more important n Cali and deserves a quick mention
Final Verdict
So how important is dancing for dating Colombian women?
It’s not necessary for getting laid or for meeting a nice chick to settle down with for something serious
However, it’s very important culturally and you are missing out on nice chicks that you could meet if you can’t dance on a basic level to some Latin music like salsa
Though you don’t have to be able to dance as good as they do in this Youtube video, any amount of dancing will help you
And therefore, it is very important to improve your dancing for dating Colombian women.
