Best Colombian Beaches for a Nice Weekend with your Girl

Living in Bogota, you get the best of what Colombia has to offer

Amazing sunny skies all the time

Always a blue sky to be seen

Amazing weather

Incredibly beautiful beaches nearby as this wonderful city is situated right along the Caribbean Coast

Right?

Just joking

Unfortunately, Bogota doesn’t have any of that and is not located on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia

Still a good city though!

But if you are living in Colombia or spending time here…

Where should you go if you do want to enjoy the amazing weather and beautiful beaches that this country has to offer?

Especially if you are hoping to spend a nice weekend with a cute Colombiana that you have gotten to know well

Someone special in your life

Well, fortunately for you, Colombia is one of the nicer countries in Latin America for beaches in my opinion

So let’s break down some of the best options you have

And keep in mind that there are many more options outside of all of this – so always keep your eyes open as this country is full of wonderful surprises

Beach 1: El Cabo Sabo Juan

Back when I first visited Colombia, I spent my days in Barranquilla way back in 2006

This was one of the first areas I remember visiting in Colombia and is still my favorite

Perhaps part of that is because of nostalgia for when I first spent time here over a decade ago

It is located in the Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona

This is one of the best beaches you will find in this country

It’s beautiful and has plenty of nature to see as well

Amazing clear waters and nice sand as well

If you are planning on visiting this beach, you will have to go to Santa Marta first and then find your way there

Which, by the way, there are plenty of other beaches near Santa Marta and also Barranquilla

So if you want to enjoy some of the best beaches in Colombia, stick to the Caribbean Coast in general and get a hotel in Santa Marta

You won’t be disappointed

Beach 2: Playas de Palomino

This is a beautiful area that is very rarely visited by foreigners or tourists.

While there is a chance you might have to share the beach with someone, there is a good chance you might not.

Located again on the Caribbean Coast, I would visit this beach after checking out first El Cabo San Juan.

If you are looking for a quiet time with quite possibly nobody else in the area, this is one of the best beaches you can find in Colombia for that purpose

When you mix in the beautiful scenery with the lack of tourism, it makes for a great option

The only negative is that you should have a meal before arriving perhaps and maybe even bring your own food. I wasn’t impressed by the food options in the area.

But that comes with being an area that is not heavily touristy.

And because of the lack of people, you might even get to enjoy some sex on the beach with your Colombian girl if you show up here. 😉

Beach 3: Taganga

This was one of the more fun beaches to visit in Colombia because of all of the options you had in the area.

When I have visited this place, you had different folks selling opportunities to get on water boats or other things to enjoy the water with.

On top of that, the food nearby this area wasn’t bad. It was easy enough to find something enjoyable to eat while staying in the area.

There’s also a few good hotels to check out too that are close by.

And with all that said, it’s still pretty cheap to enjoy this beach. When I last stayed here, I believe I spent about $30 USD per night for a nice hotel room if I remember right.

Definitely worth a visit.

Beach 4: Johnny Cay

You see the image on top of my website? That is Johnny Cay.

It’s beautiful, right?

It’s by far one of the most beautiful places you can visit on Colombian territory.

Only thing is that the place is a little bit more expensive than other Colombian beaches because of all the tourism it gets

But it’s worth every penny. Just save up and enjoy a night week there with your Colombian girl.

It has pure white sand and crystal blue waters.

Located in the San Andrés and Providencia archipelago, you will have to take a speed boat to get here.

So while along the way, you will get to see plenty of beautiful sights as you get to this amazing place.

And on top of that, the tourist infrastructure here is better than in most Colombian beaches. So if you want a more comfortable experience, this is a great place to visit.

Beach 5: Playa Blanca

Similar to Guachalito Beach listed below, this is another nice area where you can see humpback whales from around July to October.

This paradise is located close to Cartagena where you will have to take a boat to get to an area called Isla Baru.

A nice part about this beach is that it also has nice tourism infrastructure in the area with a few activities to engage in and a nice restaurant to enjoy also.

So if you happen to be finished enjoying the beaches near Santa Marta, take a close trip to Cartagena so that you can enjoy this beach next.

Beach 6: Playa Manzanillo

Located on the Caribbean island of Providencia as well, this is a beach that also has crystal blue waters and white sand to enjoy.

One of the nicer benefits to this place is that it has a nice bar in the area to enjoy a few drinks at while enjoying the scenery.

The only negative is that there is not really any water sports offered in the area.

But if you want a more relaxing beach to have a few drinks at and enjoy the scenery with your Colombian girl, this would be a great option.

Beach 7: El Valle

Located on the Pacific Coast, this beach is another unique area that is better for seeing some of Colombia’s best nature.

Though the sand in the area is not very pretty in my opinion, it does offer plenty of nearby jungle to enjoy and also marine turtles to see as well from June to October.

On top of that, snorkeling is also possible here.

All around, this is a nice little beach to visit if you happen to be near the Pacific Coast.

Beach 8: Pilon de Azucar

If you plan on visiting this beach, make sure to stop at the city of Riohacha first as this beach is located near the Guajira Desert in Colombia

It’s a unique location that also doesn’t attract as many tourists as some of the other beaches on this list

So you will get to enjoy a quieter experience here and less hassle to buy stuff from people selling stuff

While also getting to experience a special part of Colombia that is beautiful and not too touristy in general

The only negative is that the sand is not white but the water is beautiful

Beach 9: Guachalito Beach

Located along the Chocó coast, this is a cute little beach that is also not as frequently visited.

While the sands here are black and not as beautiful, you will get to experience a wonderful view of nature.

And that is what ultimately brings people to this beach as the nature here is its main attraction.

You will find plenty of wonderful landscapes, jungle and all the animals and plants that come with that.

On top of that, there’s a chance you might even get to see some whales or dolphins while in this area. So if you want a more interesting experience for sightseeing while visiting a beach in Colombia, this is a place to check out. 

Beach 10: Capurgana

If you are interested in snorkeling, this is one of the best beaches I have been to in Colombia for that opportunity.

In order to arrive here, you will have to show up by speed boat. So not only is this a beautiful beach but also it’s not always touristy.

I remember when I visited this beach way back around the late 2000s and there were very few people there

I later visited it again and it had more people to be fair. So word must be getting out about this beach because it is picking up more tourism.

Regardless, there is a good chance you might get a quieter time here to relax with few people.

And when you add in the incredible sightseeing and the snorkeling to the mix, this is a great beach to visit with your Colombian girl.
