10 Tips for Handling Gold Diggers in Colombia

As written about in a recent article I wrote, there is some controversy regarding Colombian women. One of the issues some have with Colombian women is the belief that Colombian women are gold diggers.

Now are most Colombian women gold diggers? The answer is definitely not and you can read more about why that is not the case here in this article I wrote.

But it is true that there are some gold diggers in this country in general. Just like any country.

So how do you deal with potential gold diggers and also scammers looking to rob you in Colombia?

Let’s break down 10 basic tips you can follow to ensure you best avoid getting used by gold diggers or even scammers in this country.

And by avoiding them, you will have more dating success in this country.

Where you will ideally get laid more often without wasting any significant money.

So let’s get into it

Tip 1: Dealing with the Barrio Girls

As mentioned in this article, plenty of foreigners end up having bad experiences with some of the barrio girls in Colombia.

Women that often don’t work unless they have 10 kids, live in a bad neighborhood and has a few boyfriends on the side most likely.

How do you deal with these chicks in a way that protects your money and gets you laid?

First off, these chicks are not usually very bright. They tend to be much more sexual as plenty of men have experienced. So simply don’t agree to spend anything on her or send money obviously and just escalate with her until you two have sex.

And keep in mind she most likely won’t even be asking money from you. But if she does, here is how you deal with it.

As said, don’t send her money and maybe spend at most $5 USD on her before having sex.

After you have had sex, don’t send her any money and continue to not spend a large amount of money on her. If she starts to insist on a little bit more from you, say that you two will eventually have nicer dates like that.

Just don’t have those nicer dates and keep having sex with her. Eventually she will leave but she would have left most likely had you said you weren’t ever going to spend any real money on her to begin with or that you won’t ever be sending her money.

So just enjoy the sex as it comes by but don’t compromise on this. As said, these chicks tend to not be very smart or thing strategically when it comes to this. And they tend to be very sexual and quite a few of this type of gold digger will basically give you the pussy in hopes you get hooked. Then you ideally spend a lot more money on them. Just don’t spend the money and enjoy the pussy until the ride is over.

Tip 2: Use Common Sense

When it comes to gold diggers and scammers, just use common sense when dealing with them or anyone really

With the scammers, imagine you are at a bar and a very hot woman approaches you. She is much better looking than what you normally get. On top of that, most Colombian women don’t approach men in bars and are more likely to be prostitutes in my experience.

So maybe common sense says that there is something possibly strange about this situation? She could be legit but just be cautious and use common sense.

Then imagine a situation with a gold digger. Some woman who wants you to send a few hundred or spend a ton of money on a date.

You really think that money is going to get those panties dropping? When you know she is banging other dudes for free.

So again use common sense – why would you need to spend that money when other dudes get it for free? You most likely are not going to get anything here and are probably wasting your money and time.

Not to mention self-respect.

Tip 3: No Expensive Dates

As hinted at above, it is entirely unnecessary to be spending a lot of money on expensive dates in Colombia.

As mentioned in this article I wrote on getting hookups in Colombia, you should not be spending a lot in general on these dates

Nothing more than a park, a café or a bar

Now it is free to go to one of those and the other two will involve you spending maybe $2 to $5 USD on her in Colombia

And there’s reasons why you should do this

First, it’s unnecessary to spend money on a woman. No woman I have had sex with has had a money fetish where me spending lots of money on her gets her panties wet and dropping to where she is begging for sex

Simply put, spending money on a chick doesn’t help get you anywhere and is not necessary when so many chicks are willing to fuck a dude for free because they are attracted to him

But when it comes to gold diggers, not spending a lot of money on a chick is going to repel almost all of the gold diggers in my experience

Like for example the one time a chick was very insistent that our first date be at a very expensive restaurant. She was most likely a gold digger. I held up to my standards and didn’t go on the date with her. Kept my money, time and self-respect while a gold digger was unable to take time and money from my life

Ultimately, most gold diggers are, as you would expect, looking to get you to spend a decent amount of money on them. If you simply don’t agree to that game and don’t agree to dates where you would be put in that position to spend lots of money, they lose all interest

To which they go find someone else to try and rip off and leave you alone

Making it easier then to avoid the gold diggers and focus more attention on the women that are more serious and not looking to use you

This is by far one of the best pieces of advice I have for how to avoid gold diggers. If you simply don’t play by the game they insist on, they almost always disappear naturally.

And this advice goes very well with the next piece of advice, which is…

Tip 4: Be a Sexual Animal over Provider

If you are going on a date with a woman, you are not there to spend lots of money on her right?

Is that really why she has your interest and why you agreed to go on a date with her?

Hell no.

You agreed because ultimately you probably want to have sex with this chick.

So while on dates, you shouldn’t lose focus from that. Everything you do in a date should be thought of as “is this getting us closer to having sex or away from it?”

And what this comes down to ultimately is how you present yourself. If you present yourself as a man that is romantically interested in her and is flirtatious and humorous, you will do much better in terms of getting to have sex with her

On the other hand, if you present yourself as Mr. Provider, what do you think is going to happen? You are naturally going to be attracting gold diggers like flies on shit.

They will see what you are all about and how you present yourself as some very successful man that has his life together. That you are all about that money and career success

Which does make you seem like a more stable guy to settle down with but not necessarily the type of guy she is sexually attracted to

Because no woman has her panties getting instantly wet at the sight of a few 100 dollar bills

It’s more about you presenting yourself as man romantically interested in her and escalating to the point of having sex

Where she gets turned on and imagines herself having sex with you

So when it comes to avoiding gold diggers, it’s more than just not agreeing to the conditions that they set out – like mentioned in the previous point

It’s also about presenting yourself in the right way so these women know what you are all about and there is no mystery behind it

Which, by the way, will even cause some of these gold diggers to bending their rules to have the type of date you want and even having sex without you having to spend any money

Not all of them will be like that but you can get a gold digger to stop treating you specifically in a way to get money out of you if you present yourself right

And if she is sexually attracted to you

Tip 5: Don’t Send Money Online

This is an obvious tip that shouldn’t need to be said but has to be due to how many men fall to scams from this issue

The reality is that a lot of foreign men use online dating tools like Colombian Cupid or Tinder to meet Colombian women

And while both tools are good for meeting cute Colombian women, there are some scammers on both tools like anywhere else in the world

Usually these gold diggers are telling you how much they love you and then try to ask for money quickly enough to be sent to them usually by Western Union

Simply never send her money. Ever.

Doesn’t matter how bad her situation or how much she loves you – Just don’t do it.

Tip 6: Watch Your Drinks

As mentioned in another article, women looking to scam dudes and steal a lot of their money or possessions might try to drug you

In this case, simply just watch your drink. If you are cautious and watch yourself well, this is much less likely to be an issue

And obviously don’t accept drinks that you haven’t seen prepared

All of this will eliminate some of the ways in which you could be drugged by a chick looking to take advantage of you

Tip 7: The Doorman Can Protect You

If you are going to live in Colombia long term instead of just a few weeks, you will most likely live in an apartment

Now if you choose to live in your own apartment, it’s ideal to get one with a doorman

With a doorman, the person can be more vigilant about someone trying to steal your stuff and walk out with it if you happened to be asleep or drugged

The doorman can be more vigilant in making sure that any woman you brought in isn’t walking out of the building with a bunch of expensive stuff that she didn’t walk in with

All around protecting you not necessarily from gold diggers but from scammers

Tip 8: Know What You Want

One of the reasons for why some foreigners accuse most Colombian women of being gold diggers is because some of them believe in more traditional gender norms

Where the man provides and covers the costs of a nice meal or whatever is included in any date

The reality is that these women are not gold diggers usually

But how to handle them needs to be addressed because it can be a point of contention for foreigners looking to date Colombian women

So the best way to deal with this is as following

First, don’t get too upset about having to cover some minor costs for the dates when you two are not serious. In most cases, that’s just the way it is since things are more traditional in some ways here

Second, if you want to be in a serious relationship, know ahead of time what you want in terms of a woman. Someone who contributes or someone who doesn’t for example

Knowing what you want ahead of time will help you avoid most of the tension here and not feel like you are being taken advantage of a woman you consider to be a gold digger

Tip 9: Vibe & Social Media

When dealing with any specific woman, trust the vibe you are getting from her.

For example, I was dealing with a woman from Cali once that insisted that the first date be at this very expensive restaurant

Based on her words and the overall vibe I was getting from her, I suspected pretty well she was a gold digger almost

So when dealing with women and trying to avoid the gold diggers, just trust the vibe you are getting from her in general

On top of that, checking her social media can be helpful also for getting a general sense of who she is

Often women who are gold diggers reveal much of that on their social media in terms of their lifestyles and how materialistic they seem to be

While plenty will say that social media has made women worse these days, it at least gives us men an easier way to see if she is even worth our time

A woman’s social media often says a lot about her in many ways – including hinting at if she is a materialistic gold digger or not

Tip 10: Less Touristy Areas

In parts of Colombia where there are more tourists, you also have more people trying to milk foreigners for every dollar they have

This is because people looking to milk foreign men know that they will find more of them in touristy cities like Medellin or Cartagena for example

Now most people in these cities or other touristy areas are fine and not doing anything shady

But you will find more gold diggers and scammers in these cities in general

So if you want to increase your chances of avoiding as many of these folks as possible, then visit or live in less touristy cities

Such as Pasto or Ibagué for example

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, if you follow these tips, you will be in a much better position to avoiding gold diggers and female scammers in Colombia

While I will reiterate that most Colombian women are not gold diggers or scammers, there are enough here to be worried about

Especially if you are coming to Colombia to enjoy the dating scene with any of the sexy Colombian women

Though it also does vary, as stated in this article, by where in Colombia you are specifically

As there are more gold diggers and scammers in some parts versus others
