Over the years of living in Colombia, there are certain types of Colombian women to avoid while dating here
And from my experience, they exist as well in their own way in other Latin American countries also
And for the type of man who is looking for a serious wife someday, it’s important to understand that there are certain types of Colombian women to avoid
Because all of the women that I am about to describe simply are more trouble than they are worth
They often come with more red flags than a “United Socialist Party of Venezuela” party
So let’s break it down which types of Colombian women to avoid
Girl 1: The Aggressive Romantic in Need of Money
This is the type of girl that you meet on some dating tool like Tinder or something similar
Where within the first hour of talking with her online, she is already telling you how she loves you so much
And you two haven’t even met yet!
More often than not this type of chick comes with a few children that she had with some guy who isn’t in the picture anymore
And this chick is usually in need of money as her minimum wage job is having a hard time paying the bills
And in some cases – it’s not even a girl who is talking with you!
It might be a guy pretending to be a girl sometimes
But you get where this is going, right?
Regardless of it is a she or a he, this person will then ask kindly for you to give them some random amount of money
Usually it’s after she has sweet talked you a bit and will then ask for maybe 200 to 300 USD for her children
Sometimes the request comes with a promise of “getting naughty later” in the form of photos that she might promise to send you
In other cases, she might not even have kids but instead will somehow conclude in the conversation that you two are already boyfriend and girlfriend
Or that she likes you so much that it feels like you two have known each other forever and she is your girl now
Then she will ask for a few hundred bucks to go to a beauty salon because you want your girl looking good, don’t you?
…..don’t you?
In short, you know this girl is a scammer and not worth your time. She often is playing off multiple men at once and you are just one out of many that she is talking to.
Just don’t send her the money.
Girl 2: The Dangerous Chick
This girl is another great example of a type of Colombian women to avoid
Where she is a bit dangerous in that her intention is to actually drug you or somehow get you robbed
Very often she will wear sexier clothing and look quite nice
And she is hoping you think with your dick instead of your head
So you go on a date with her and in a common case she will drug your drink
Then steal your stuff later
Or she will be working with other criminals to perhaps get you to meet her in a bad neighborhood or whatever else she might do to trick you into a bad situation
To be fair, most Colombian women do not fall into either of these two girls mentioned – the aggressive romantic or the dangerous chick
But because of how risky and dangerous both are, they need to be said since they often take advantage of men who want sex or love in order to steal their money
Girl 3: The Barrio Girl
As mentioned several times in other articles on this website, the “Barrio” girl is one that does not make an ideal woman to settle down with
She is fun though for casual sex!
But that is often because she has been with quite a few men in her life
From my experience, the typical “barrio girl” is basically a chick who often lives with her parents or maybe a specific boyfriend
If she works, and that’s a major if, then it’s usually some minimum wage job selling food on the street or something
However, in my experience, most of them never work a single job ever and often do not study anything
So what do they do during the day?
That’s a big mystery, I suppose
Well, most of time this girl just spends time with her friends or with one of her boyfriends
And from what I have seen, they usually have multiple guys in their lives
They may not all be official boyfriends to her – many of them just might be side guys looking for sex that she is attracted to or might be guys who are desperate to have her and throw money and gifts at her
She takes in the gifts, has sex with a few guys here and there, possibly lives with her parents until her mid to late 20s (whenever she gets married) and that’s it
Then she begins having kids and hopefully the guy who got her pregnant sticks around
If not, she will stick to living at home while now most likely working a minimum wage job and/or having some guy help pay her bills and perhaps marries the guy also
Not exactly a high quality girl to be your wife someday
Girl 4: The Fun Party Chick
This one is simple
This is the type of girl that perhaps likes to show off her skin a bit much here and there
She often sleeps around a lot and drinks a bit also
While likes to party and she likes to have fun
As she most likely does have a job or studies something though, so she is doing something with her life
And this chick usually never goes for settling down – just doesn’t seem important to them
The go sleeping around and have fun
So if you like having fun, she’s probably available. Just don’t make her your wife because you can’t expect her to be faithful.
Girl 5: Rich Daddy Girl
This is the type of Colombian girl that has the latest Iphone
She has a fancy car at a young age and it makes you wonder how she affords it
She has very nice clothes too and takes shopping vacation trips to Miami and New York
….and again you wonder how she affords all of that at the age of 22 with no finished college education and possibly not even a job
Well, it’s obvious – her parents pay for it all
She goes to a private school
Usually can speak English very well because of her education at a private school
Often is a bit classist and materialist – expects the best and wouldn’t want a boyfriend who can’t provide lots of money to her
The thing about these chicks is that they are never worth the time for something serious. They often are fun to be around for partying and having sex with
But outside of that, they often are materialistic, classist, expect too much of a man and are not appreciative, snobby and entitled and are not the most feminine women either that you can find in Colombia
Girl 6: The Social Justice Warrior (SJW)
As written about in another article on this website, this girl is usually very rare in Colombia. It is unlikely that you will run across her.
But they tend to exist in larger and more urban cities like Bogota for example
Sometimes they develop this SJW mindset from living abroad or because of their experience with activists living in Colombia
As is typical with SJW women, they tend to not be very feminine and often have an attitude that regards men as “trash”
Overall, not very pleasant to be around
Girl 7: The Bogota Careerist
In Bogota, you have a certain amount of women who heavily prioritize their career over everything else
Over being feminine
Over their own mental and physical health as they let their office job take up all their free time
In addition, they often prioritize the career over marriage and having children until very late in their lives
Overall, these women tend to be respectful and do not have bad personalities in my experience
And they also are fun have around as they usually are open to something casual in the few hours when they are free
However, they just don’t make great wives or mothers as their priorities are different than most women
Therefore, for serious dating and not just casual hookups, this is another example of a Colombian women to avoid
Girl 8: The Presumptuous Paisa
Now, this might seem like I am saying all women from Medellin are bad options for marriage
And even though there are a lot of things about Medellin that make it one of the worst cities in Colombia to find a faithful and good wife….
There is a particular type of woman in Medellin in the same way that there is a particular type of woman that can be found in Bogota
Which is “the Presumptuous Paisa”
What is this?
Basically, there are 2 things specifically that make a lot of women in Medellin to be a little bit on the “presumptuous” side
First, that women in Medellin are well known for having big egos of themselves due to the reputation about the beauty of their women
Which, in turn, has made a lot of them very arrogant
Second, it is well known that women in Medellin tend to not be very well concerned about the rest of the world and often think that their city is the center of the universe
Which is another thing I have seen quite often there
Both of these issues has made it where finding a woman in Medellin that is not presumptuous a bit more difficult
I’d personally avoid this type of woman for marriage given that these are not good traits you’d want in a wife
And also personally avoid Medellin in general because there are much better women in the rest of Colombia that would make better partners than women in Medellin
Girl 9: The Girl of the “Crazy Family”
As said elsewhere on this website, family is very important in Colombia
If you marry her, you marry her family
And if she is very much into you, then you will absolutely be introduced to her family at some point
The issue here is that families in Colombia tend to have much more influence over your marriage than in the US for example
The problems of her family have much more weight and will impact your life greater
For example, if her dad is an alcoholic, then you can expect him to cause more problems between you two
He might insist that you two give him more money for “food”
And given that it is family in Colombia, she will have a much harder time saying no than a girl in the US might
And this is just one example – there are many ways in which her family might bring problems into your life and your marriage
So before you marry her, you need to have a serious look at her family
Make sure there are no major issues that will cause pain down the road
Check everything
And if her family appears completely normal with no major issues, then don’t worry about it
Girl 10: Gringo Hunter
Finally, the best for last – the Gringo Hunter
The gringo hunter comes in several forms
The most common idea of the “gringo hunter” is a chick who is specifically hunting down a foreigner with the intention of marrying one so she can get access to living in the US
One night at the Irish pub in some Colombian city you might run across this chick
Something that is very common among these chicks is that they often express a very strong interest in your country and its culture
In such a way that it seems like she doesn’t even care about her own culture
You ask her a few questions for example…
You: Favorite book?
Her: Harry Potter
You: Favorite movie?
Her: Something made by Disney
You: Favorite Band: The Beatles
Then you ask her if she likes anything from her own country and she always says no
No bands, movies, books, TV shows, nothing
Something doesn’t seem right there
How could she be from Colombia and not like one thing about Colombia? Seems like perhaps she is lying and trying to impress you
I remember one time I ran across one of these chicks some odd years ago when Barack Obama was still President
During our first date, it became very obvious that she was saying anything she could that she thought I would like to hear
Therefore, she started talking randomly about politics and how she loves President Bush
And the guy hadn’t even been president for maybe 4 or 5 years by that point
Well, I’m sure George Bush would have loved to have known that she really appreciates him
Though, to be honest, I never asked her which two Presidents with the name Bush she was referring to
Oh well – I’m sure she loved both
Anyway, as is obvious by now, these chicks often come across as weird and as if they are putting on a show to make you like them
Like with any of the other chicks here, they tend not to make the best girls for someone to settle down with as they come with intentions to just get a passport or your money and that’s it
Overall
And there you have it! A list of just some of the Colombian women to avoid while dating down here
