Although I have been critical of Colombian bride services in other articles, I also acknowledge that there is a great reward with Colombian bride services if done right
This reward being obvious — finding a faithful, feminine and beautiful Colombian woman to settle down with and have a family
And in several cases, I have met men who have successfully settled down with a Colombian woman as their reward with Colombian bride services
In the following story…
One guy I met traveled to Colombia to do just that…..
And so while sitting in a park in Medellin called Bolivar Park on a sunny day, I was relaxing after having just eaten some lunch at a nearby restaurant
All by myself, I check my phone and see that a girl that I had been spending a few weeks with had texted me. Nothing much – I text back and then put the phone down again
At this point, a man and a woman sit down on the same bench that I was at while two of their kids – 2 boys – were playing in the park
One boy had a soccer ball and kicked it to the other boy but the second boy missed it and failed to kick it back
The first boy celebrates having won some soccer match between them
And I noticed that the dad of the two boys had an American accent when he called out to the second boy to go get the soccer ball before it goes into the street
The woman that he was with gets up then to help get the soccer ball because the second boy just ignored the dad
At that point I say to the guy “where are you from?”
He hears my accent and notices I am American also
He says he is from the US also but lives in Colombia now with his wife and two kids that they had together in Colombia
He then asked me what I am doing in Colombia and I said that I am living here also and had been for quite a few years by this point
“Married?” He asked
“No, not yet” I said
He then said that he made the move to Colombia after he decided to marry his wife
And that’s when he began to describe his journey to Colombia as I asked him a little more about it
Essentially, he was working a typical 9-5 job in the US but never had time to find a wife in the US
On top of that, he didn’t like how the women in the US were not “very feminine” as he put it and wanted a woman who could be faithful, feminine and a good life partner and mother of his kids
Someone he could love and be loved back
So that’s why he decided to look for love elsewhere as he felt that women in the US were not what he wanted
And after about a year of looking around to see what dating agencies there are, he came across one called Dream Connections
This company is well known for offering trips to Medellin for men looking for a Colombian wife

For those looking for love and to start a family
Initially, he said he wanted to bring a wife back to the US since he can make more money working in the US than Colombia
And then there was the issue of how “he didn’t speak Spanish back then and didn’t understand well Colombian culture”
So he didn’t think it would work out for him to live in Colombia with his wife
I nodded and listened some more while my phone also started to get more texts from the girl I had been seeing
Afterwards, he explained that he trusted Dream Connections because they seemed legitimate
So after a while of planning a trip to Colombia, he finally flew down to meet a very specific chick that he had been writing to
Which, no surprise, turned out to be the wife he is with today
Anyway, he finally meets her in person while in Medellin
When he first met her, he said that she was wearing a white dress and was even more attractive in person
But more importantly, she was very sweet and feminine and very pleasant to be around in general
They kept talking and getting to know each other and one thing led to another…
And now they are married with kids here
“And why didn’t you decide to go back to the US with her?”
Well, he did actually do that from what he told me
But it didn’t work out – his wife greatly missed her family when they were back in the US after he managed to get her in
He recalled how there were many nights where she was crying and simply said that she missed her family quite a bit
It all became worse especially when her mom was diagnosed with diabetes
At that point, she decided that she simply couldn’t keep living in the US while her mom has medical problems
And she felt that she was being a bad daughter for not being there with her mother as her mother was stressed out from the diagnosis
However…
It wasn’t like they could just go back to Colombia the next day
But they made plans – the guy started working on an online income so that he can support them better when in Medellin
And given that she was educated in Colombia, he said that she felt she could get a better job in Colombia than what she can get in the US – especially since her English still wasn’t good
Once he had enough savings up and his online income was good – they made the move back to Colombia
In all, it took them about a year to a year and a half before they could make the move
And now they are here in Medellin – living a happy life where she is glad to finally be back near her parents
And he is living a simpler life in Colombia where cost of living is cheap and he has a beautiful wife who is faithful, feminine and loving with two kids
It all sounded interesting to me – especially since I always assumed that it would be impossible to find a wife through one of these dating programs
But he did it!
And over the years, I have met other men who have been able to do that as well
Still married with no problems and a happy life with a feminine and loving wife
Before he could finish his story however, I ended up getting a call from the girl that I was texting before
He asked me if it was a girl I was seeing and I said yes
We talked a little bit about her and how I met her as well
Finally, I left since I made plans to see her at a nearby café that was close to the Bolivar Park
His wife was already sitting down when he was describing his journey to Colombia so I said goodbye to both of them and went on my way
In the end
It is possible to find love through one of these programs
Though other men have had difficulty doing it, I have seen other men pull it off
Depends on the guy, on the woman he meets and the program he uses I suppose
Though I have never tried it myself, I at least know that some programs out there are legitimate
Overall, good for him and good for anyone who manages to find a nice woman to settle down with in Colombia
After all, they are enjoying many of the reward with Colombian bride services
