You spend an hour on Colombian Cupid
Or perhaps you meet a cute Colombian chick in the street during the day
Either way, after arriving to Colombia, you met a sweet Colombian chick to go on a date with somehow
And have decided to take her to a bar to enjoy the night, get to know each other and maybe have some fun later back at your place
However, where should you take a cute Colombian chick in a large city like Bogota?
In the night, it might seem like you have endless amounts of options in a big city like this with all its incredible nightlife
Plenty of venues to be dancing salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton or some other Latin dance
But let’s say you are bad at dancing and prefer a place to simply sit down and chill at
A Jazz venue might work for you if you are into that
And if so, check out this article I wrote on the best jazz venues in Colombia
However, if you are not into Jazz, I’d recommend a good rock bar venue
In large part because they are great places to chill, see some live music perhaps and escalate romantically and physically with a woman
And also plenty of Colombian women love rock music as it has quite the following here
While most people think of Argentina or maybe some other country when it comes to Latin rock music…
I’d say that Colombia has developed its own rock scene quite well and is one of the best in Latin America when compared to most countries down in this region
So if you are in Bogota, which rock bars should you take your date so?
Or which venues should you simply enjoy the night at to some awesome music and good drinks?
Let’s find out
¡Vámonos parceros!
This is by far one of the best rock bars in Bogota
One could argue even the best rock bar that you will find in all of Colombia
Overall, the prices are great, customer service is good, decent selection of beer and the rock music is good too.
When I have gone here, I usually paid a cover of around 13,000 pesos if I remember correctly. That’s only about 4 USD more or less so not bad.
On top of all of that, this place has a good vibe to it and I have met some cool people here also. It’s a bit easier to make some friends here with similar taste in music if you are here often enough.
If you are a fan of The Doors, this is the place to be in Bogota or really any part of Colombia as I don’t know any other bar in this country dedicated to The Doors
One negative though is that the music here is not very diverse as it is, as you would expect, a lot of music from The Doors. One could argue that they could diversify what songs they play but it’s still pretty good
An aspect I like about this bar also is that it is a bit easier to have a conversation here than in other bars on this list given that music is never too loud in my experience
So overall, it’s a decent bar that is pretty cool due to its dedication to The Doors. If you are a major fan of that band like I am, you should definitely check out this bar.
This is another cool rock bar that you will find in Bogota. The music has more variation than what you will find in the last bar mentioned.
However, it’s not my favorite bar as the owner of the place is not the kindest person in my experience and also the prices are a little more expensive than what seems fair for the experience.
Regardless, it’s definitely a cool experience to check out this place and they do have decent live shows. I’d check it out if you have the time.
For Saturday nights, this is one of the more ideal rock bars to check out. I’d only go here on Saturdays since the other nights of the week are not as ideal in this place. Not as lively or exciting.
This place is also pretty good overall with a decent selection of music. The customer service is good and also the drinks are nice.
It is also one of the other bars I would recommend if you are looking for an ideal place to have a conversation with someone while listening to good music.
This is a cute little rock bar in Bogota that definitely deserves a mention. It has a decent selection of rock music and the space itself is very chill.
There are some negatives though. The space isn’t very big so I don’t recommend you bring a big group with you. Also, prices are a little bit more expensive here for what they offer and the customer service isn’t ideal.
However, if you are going to be in Bogota for a while, I’d definitely check this place out with a friend or a chick when you got the time.
One thing I really like about this place is their choice of live bands to have perform this. If you want to see some cool live music, this is definitely one of the cooler places I have been to. Great atmosphere and great selection of live rock bands when they have live shows.
Also, the prices are reasonable for what they offer in terms of service.
There’s also plenty of space in the bar as well. Overall, I strongly recommend this place.
This is another cool bar that I really like for rock music.
One of the benefits of going here is that the food is also quite tasty. While other bars on this list might have food as well, this is one of the better rock bars I have listed when it comes to food.
So if you want to enjoy a nice night out to some rock music but you also are hungry, check out this place.
Not only is the food tasty but it also comes in nice portions and nothing too small like you might see in some other Colombian restaurants.
The only negative I have for this place is that sometimes the customer service is not ideal or a little bit slow. But it’s not the worst in Colombia when it comes to that and overall it’s not too much of a negative.
If you feel like checking out a rock bar that is not as well known as some of the others here, check out this place.
It’s cool overall and the music is good as anywhere else.
They also have some cool art on the walls and the beer prices are reasonable.
Also, I found people here to be a bit friendlier and have even made a few friends in this place that I talk to occasionally.
The only other thing to mention is that this place is not as popular as some of the other rock bars on this list. However, it still attracts a decent amount of people.
And because it’s not too popular, it’s also not too overcrowded and the customer service is reasonable. You won’t be waiting too long most likely for drinks and any service in general.
This is another popular rock bar that you can find in Bogota.
One thing I really liked about this place was that it has always been clean when I showed up and never too dirty on the inside.
Selection of music and customer service is good too.
It also has a cool selection of live music occasionally that makes for a great experience.
One of the bigger negatives to this place though, despite the timely customer service, is that they often forget to bring ice or lemon for the drinks or shots.
While in other bars, that stuff is included. Here, you have to ask for it and even then they have often not brought it when asked. Sometimes I feel like they try not to provide that stuff to maybe save on costs?
But either way, with enough effort, you will get ice and lemon eventually. Overall, this is a cool bar either way despite that minor inconvenience that might happen if you show up.
Similar to Lymbo Rock Bar, this is another nice little rock bar that isn’t as well known.
If you are looking to try out some of the less touristy rock bars, this is a decent place to check out in my opinion.
Alcohol prices are reasonable and customer service is good.
One thing though that makes this bar stand out are all the cool pictures and guitars illustrated on the walls.
As you can guess by the name of this bar, they have a lot to show to you in the form of their own little gallery.
Overall, it makes for a very pleasant experience, especially if this is your first time visiting this place.
Definitely worth visiting when you got the time.
Of course, there are many other rock bars in Bogota that I could have mentioned or given more detail to. Such as…
But there is one rock bar that I feel deserves a little more attention than the others on this list and I saved it for last…
This is by far one of the more popular places for rock music in Bogota.
It has good beer, the food is great but most importantly…
The live rock shows they have at this place are some of the best ones you will find in Bogota in my experience.
The only negative here is that the customer service can be slow but this place often is quite busy in my experience.
Either way, it’s a great option and definitely deserves a mention as the “best for last” rock bar you should try out for sure when in Bogota.
